Historic Documentation

Following an audit of all the parish council documents, it was found that sadly, all the minute books of the parish council before 1998 have been destroyed/lost at some point, additionally the Burial Rights Certificates book issued between 1974 to 1983 was also lost together with part of one of the burial registers covering 1932-60 (which detailed more around the deceased's personal details such as their former occupation and address). All minutes since 2007 are accessible on the Documents page of the Parish Council website, the signed copies of all minute books since 1998 have been sent to the County Archives for preservation, we have had those from 1998 to 2007 scanned as PDF images. The Burial Certification Books from 1932 to 2024 have been scanned to PDF and the originals also sent to the County Archives together with the original Burial Register. All the Burial Rights Certificates and Burial Register mentioned above have been scanned. All the data recorded in all of the above documents in relation to Langold Cemetery was transcribed in 2024/25 to the new digital Burial Database the Council operates and the publicly accessible parts of this data will be available online in due course, together with the new digital map.
